MRB was fortunate to partner with Pappas Group on behalf of the .US “Kickstart America” campaign this April. The purpose? To thank two small business owners who have .US web addresses for using their service. This wasn’t any ordinary thank you, however. Actors cash-mobbed the unsuspecting stores armed with hidden cameras and iPhones, where they made purchases and discreetly filmed the action. At the height of the madness when items were flying off the shelves, a surprise team armed with balloons and banners; an a cappella group; and a RED camera entered the store and documented the special thank you, which included a personalized song. The reactions of the owners were perfect and priceless; and post-surprise interviews gave some insight into their stories and how .US has helped their businesses. These event-slash-film shoots were a unique, guerilla-style of filming that us here at MRB had a joy in creating and being a part of.
